Peter Head is a civil and structural engineer and a leading specialist in sustainable development. He is the founder and Chair of Resilience Brokers. UNISDR has appointed Peter Head to Advisory Board of UN Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction “GAR 2018”.
Peter Head joined Arup in 2004 to create and lead Arup’s global planning and integrated urbanism team of several hundred people. He directed work on the Dongtan Eco-city planning project, voted by Chinese developers in 2005 as the most influential development project in China. In 2008, he was named by The Guardian Newspaper as one of the 50 people that could save the planet, and was cited by Time magazine as one of 30 global eco-heroes. In 2012, he was one of 100 engineers and scientists selected to have his life story recorded in the aural history of Britain at the British Library.
